Photay’s Waking Hours Out Now!

Waking Hours out Now!

The new Album from Photay

Waking Hours is Photay’s most personal effort to date, but it’s by no means an insular album, literally or figuratively. The expanded range and cast of contributors (including Carlos Niño, Michael Lovett [Metronomy], Gambian kora player Salieu Suso, Felicia Douglass and Kristin Slipp [Dirty Projectors]) has only strengthened his vision, and even though the album found Shornstein carving out his own corner for quiet reflection, he’s also made that corner big enough that everyone can join him for a mental breather.

Photay will be donating all Bandcamp digital revenue from Waking Hours until June 26th to Equality for Flatbush, a people of color-led, multi-national grassroots organization that does anti-police repression, affordable housing and anti-gentrification/anti-displacement organizing in Flatbush, East Flatbush and Brooklyn-wide. Mexican Summer will be matching this donation up to $1,000.
